Family-Friendly Route

Tokyo is an easy city to travel with children in — clean, safe, and full of genuinely kid-focused attractions — but the pace needs to be slower than a solo or couples itinerary.

Family-Friendly Route
Day 1 — Odaiba
  • A self-contained, spread-out district that's easy on tired legs: the Gundam statue, teamLab Planets (book ahead), and a beach to run around on
  • Aqua City and DiverCity malls have easy, varied food courts for picky eaters
Day 2 — Ueno
  • Ueno Zoo in the morning, before it gets hot or crowded
  • Tokyo National Museum for a shorter visit if attention spans allow, otherwise skip straight to the park itself
  • Ameyoko for an early, casual dinner
Day 3 — Harajuku and Shibuya, lightly
  • Meiji Shrine's forest walk in the morning — genuinely calming for kids too
  • Takeshita-dori crepes as a reward stop
  • Shibuya Sky if your children handle heights well, otherwise the Hachiko statue and crossing at ground level is enough
